On 15th August 2007,the Gurney Day Celebrations took place at St George's Ho, Northern Police Orphanage, Harrogate, twin of the Southern Provincial Police Orphanage, Redhill on the 60th Anniversary of the closure of the SPPO. Very interesting. See www.stgeorgesharrogate.org for history.(source Federation of Family History Societies ezine May 2011)
