Hello Keeper of the website,

I am a descendent of Sir Samuel Owfield who was owner of Upper Gatton in early 1600's and represented Parliament for the area, though it was known as a 'rotten" Parliament or some such thing. He must've been a scoundrel. Nonetheless, I am proud of my British roots and should like to come visit Upper Gatton some day. Some of we descendents emigrated to South Berwick and Kittery Maine in the 1600's. Now we are throughout the US. Three cheers for England.

By the way, my other side is from England and Wales, also. The first time I visited England I felt like I was 'home.' Brilliant! Ann (Elizabeth) Fisher.

I have all the records of the bells cast by Gillett & Johnston of Croydon. Does Gatton Park (Mr Druce Esq)possess a bell cast in 1890 weighing 1cwt 1qr 0lbs (75.2kg) which might have a serial number of 1279 cast into the shoulder of the bell?

Thanks for your time - Alan Buswell
