Woodhatch Lodge, Reigate

Woodhatch Lodge, Reigate, Surrey.

It became the home for the Crusader Insurance Company circa 1939.

Subsequently the headquarters for Canon UK Ltd. was opened in May 2000.

It was purchased from Canon by Surrey County Council in 2020 and subsequently renamed Woodhatch Place.

My ancestor was Butler here in 1901. Mrs Margaret Haywood was the owner then.

Who owned Woodhatch Lodge and Woodhatch Lodge Farm in 1954 please? And any connection to Lord Randolph Churchill or Winston Churchill? My husbands mother put Woodhatch Lodge down as her address where she was living when she registered his birth.

Elaine Hook. You do not mention what year your mother lived there and her name. I too was born there in 1951 and lived there until 1971. I submitted some of the pictures that are this sight. Any other information would be of interest.

My mother - Ella Wingfield made these costumes for the carnival. There were also two gentlemen on horseback wearing a full crusader uniform which again my mother made.
