Greystone Limeworks siding, Merstham, Surrey. 19 May 1956. Edwin Course.
This is the rail siding that ran from Merstham Station and served the lime works. The Quarry Line tunnel entrance is in the background although not visable.
With thanks to P. Burgess, Wealden Cave and Mine Society.

The Quarry Line tunnel was well over to the left and would not have been visible from here.

My mates and I visited this site many times in the late fifties to have a look around. There were sheds, rails and ,I believe, a turntable although I do not think this was a working site then.
