I was a boarder at Hillside from 1951 to 1954 and a dayboy from 1954 to 1956. When was the school demolished? I remember Mr. Bannister as head at that time.

I am Peter Osborne's brother. I was a boarder here from September, 1952 through mid 1954, then a weekly boarder from September 1954 through mid 1955 and then a day boy until July 1958.
I would like to know when the school closed (perhaps 1960, when the founder and headmaster, Mr. Banister died). Also, the buildings were not demolished until must later, perhaps 10 to 15 years? Further, the school grounds were fenced off for many years after that, but the playing fields and swimming pool building were acquired by another entity. Perhaps the former building areas are still fenced off.
Lastly, whatever happened to all the school paper records and all the library books?

This is the back view of the photo above: the bay window was the fron of a room that held the library and was also a classroom. The wooden building to the right was the gym and assembly Hall where morning prayers were held znc boys were caned for various infractions after assembly! I should know: I was caned from time to time, but became school captain in 1951 and monitored such events! I revisited the school in 1959 after National Service and talked with Mr. Bannister. I think the school closed in 1960, tho' I didn't know that he had dies that year.
