My grandfather, Wiliam Chalk and his family lived there before and after World War 2. The farm was called High Trees Farm. One of his daughters and her daughter, who lived there, are still alive. He farmed there before the war, I am not sure about post 1945.

My father drove a lorry for w chalk haulage in the 1950-1960's I travelled all over the country with him as a child/teenager, I knew Wally Chalk and Bill simmond's ( he had a large alsation, the yard always had geese wandering around and they would nip you if you were not carefull

In reply to Jo Ellis William Chalk did farm there post 1945 as my Grandfather who lived opposite did not move until late 1947 and William was still there then an indeed later than that.
