I live in the old school now! It's beautiful. I'd really like a copy of the photograph from 1910, anyone know how I can get a copy? Thanks.

I was the last head girl of Frenches road school, before relocating to Bishop Simpson where I was fortunate enough to be 1st head girl. I am still in touch with Mr Eccles who had a holiday with me in Sydney some years ago.We met as adults over here which was quite a change as I was allowed to be in charge ! He is now nearing the end of his life, and I shall miss him terribly.

Red hill town has always fascinated me as an ideal place to raise a child in the Lonon sub-orb. It's my second visit here and I never stop loving the place. I live near the Frenches Pond and every day I make it a point of duty to watch the lovely swans in the pond.

I was the one of the last schoolchildren to attend what was by the known as the Frenches Annexe of St Bede's School, in 1989. It closed after Christmas that year and, bar a brief period as a teacher training centre, was left derelict for the best part of two decades, until 2008 when development finally began on converting the beautiful (and still sound) buildings to residential accommodation. It was apparently touch-and-go for a while, as the downturn at that time clearly caused the developers to down tools while further funds were found. Happily though, after a good four years, the project was finally completed, and from what I understand to a good standard - the development won an award I believe. It's gratifying to see these buildings essentially as they were, albeit with modern additions but retaining core character, functioning in a relevant way for 21st century life. One of Redhill's few success stories in terms of rejuvenating - rather than rejecting - its Victorian heritage.

I have always admired this building and very pleased to see it restored, was very sadto see it in ruins for nearly 20 years.

My mother Vera Sticklee attended Frenches Road school in the 1920s and I have a photograph of her taken in 1922 when she was in the netball team. I have the names of the other team members as well as teacher's names. Vera married James Abbott in 1936. Can I send you a photo of the netball team and if so how?
