This was White Tompkins & Courage, renamed several times through the years (Pauls & Whites International and Felton Worldwide to name but two). Mainly processing hops and generating Post Fermentation Bitters (PFB) for brewers but also produced flavours and frangrances for the cosmetic, food and drinks industry.

If I remember correctly this is the view that greeted you as you turned into Albert Road North in 1968. The sweet smells and aroma's also were heavy in the air. As the road turned a sharp right at the entrance to this building it ran downhill past a new company called Ambressey Engineering perched on a steep incline to the factory entrance then the road continued downwards before turning left to face the Atco motor mower service centre. I would be interested on any info at all about the Ambressey Engineering company As I worked there as a lad when it moved to that site from Norbury Road Thanks
